SWEET CORN

As we get more and more warm days those plants that were started in the cold spring are finally growing

and producing more veggies to eat.

I have heard it from the grapevine that there will be some sweet corn at the market

on July 14th.  Remember that the corn at our market is NOT shipped in from

other states but grown locally so we can not always have it ready when

people are ready to eat it.

There are a lot of other warm season veggies that are starting to appear at

the market too so be sure to check it out each week.  Something you could not find

last week may now be available.

Boone Farmers Market 2011

The 2011 Season begins Thursday June 2, same place, same time.  We will be at the Wal-Mart parking lot again this year and

will start at 3pm sharp and run until 6pm.  The vendors are not allowed to sell before 3pm so if you arrive early feel free to look around

at the market area or shop in Wal-Mart until it is time to open the market.  This allows all the vendors to get set up and be ready to

sell at the same time and customers know that they can come at 3pm and not worry about the item they want being sold out already because

people were buying before the market begins.

We have a lot of the regular vendors returning this year and some new vendors as well.  We also will have a Facebook page this year so check

it out and become a fan and we will update the page will photos and info during the season.  Vendors will be selling produce, crafts, plants,

and baked goods.  Everything must be grown or made in Iowa.  You can shop with confidence at the market knowing that you are supporting

local businesses.  We still are accepting new vendors so if you are interested, please contact one of the board members.
